Artificial Intelligence in Hydro Power Plants

In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has experienced rapid, widespread expansion across nearly every sector including hydro power, transforming from a futuristic concept into a core operational utility.AI models based on machine learning/ neural networks/ fuzzy logic/ hybrid models etc is being used to optimize hydropower generation/ maintenance/ forecast water flow/ predictive maintenance of equipment’s/ real-time optimal power dispatch/ enhanced environmental monitoring etc. In this paper, an attempt has been made to describe AI techniques, literature review on applications of AI in hydropower and Challenges in its application.
