Abstract

Power Distribution systems form the backbone of societal progress. In contemporary times, electrical power has become an essential commodity, indispensable in every corner of the globe. The intention of this paper is to raise awareness among the audience about the scope of technological advancements in the Indian power distribution sector looking to the same occurring worldwide. Often, these advancements involve technologies that we are already utilizing or familiar with, but due to shifts in terminology and minor differences in application methodologies, they appear to be novel. The author-of this paper has meticulously studied numerous papers from international conferences. Drawing from these experiences-and insights, some terminologies along with their understanding are presented herein for the benefit of the audience. A detailed illustration of each topic is not feasible due to space constraints.
