Runoff generates form rainfall the water that flows over land after rain with delayed runoff is critical for managing water resources. In this study, we focused on Kunigal Taluk in Karnataka’s Tumkur District, an area of 981.55 km2 characterized by rolling plains and shallow valleys. We divided this region into five watersheds, further split into sub-watersheds, mini-watersheds, micro-watersheds, and incomplete watersheds. Using the Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) method, we estimated annual runoff based on rainfall patterns. This approach is ideal because it’s reliable, requires minimal data, and adapts well to diverse landscapes. Our findings provide a clear link between rainfall and runoff, supporting better water management strategies.
