Abstract

This technical paper deals with the difficulties encountered due to waterlogging during Earth Pit digging to erect earth pits for earthing of Power Plant Transformers mounted at low lying clayey soil type Transformer yard at NLC TPS II Expansion (2x250 MW), Neyveli and aimed to practically manage by successful evolution and implementation of a cost effective innovative technology - “AUGERING TECHNOLOGY” leading non-stop work progress during monsoon season and productivity improvement. This new Augering technology implemented by almost Manual operation at NLC TPS II Expansion site. The system design for 75% of Automation is available as product development for future use.
