The management techniques and development activities play a very important role for ancient as well as modern times. The efficient system of product development management makes a significant difference. The unprecedented growth and convergence of any firm offer a multitude of applications in every sphere of human endeavor be it business, government, military, non-profit organizations, health and education. It is only in recent years that organizations have consciously started engaging in managing human talent as strategic resource to attain Organisational Excellence. The Defence R&D Organization (DRDO) believes in innovative approach with an integrated manner with its well-knit teams of Scientists, Technical Officers, Officers of Admin and MMG groups, which in turn produces qualitative results of Defence Technologies. Although, in well-established organization where a developer scientist handles large amount of activities in his/her product development areas also gives exposures to many other disciplines like Project preparation, Project Monitoring, Handling of resources etc.
The objective of this paper is to examine the strategic contributions of HR in managing human endeavor as strategic resource in pursuit of Organisational Excellence. To achieve such harmony, the key ingredient is “putting the right people in the right jobs”. There is no magic formula to manage talent, the trick is to locate it and encourage it. Talent Management is beneficial to both the organization and the employees.
