Today every organization from small to large is forced to give more importance to their human resources since they are the deciding factor of their conquest and crash in this busy and hi tech world. The organizations concentrate more in acquiring and retaining the most competent and contemporary work force so that they can achieve as well as survive their success in long run. One such dynamic tool that helps the organization to cover their employees is “The Quality of Work Life”. This paper is an attempt to identify the major dimensions that influence the quality of work life of employees of an organization in Indian perspective. The factors like work environment, organization culture and climate, compensation and reward, welfare facilities, training and development, adequacy of resources, relation and co-operation, freedom of work, job satisfaction and job security, work life balance can be used to measure the extent of quality of work life enjoyed by the employees of any organization. Some appropriate quality of work life programmes can be adopted by the organizations based on their nature of the business inorder to provide better quality of work life to their work force.
