Abstract

The proportion of women in workforce is increasing and it is a major challenge for them to balance the competing demands of work and family. Women are reporting that their lives are becoming a juggling act that include multiple responsibilities at work, heavy meeting schedules, business trips, on top of managing the daily routine responsibilities of life and home. These heavy schedules at organisation and family are impacting on women employees increasing in absenteeism and turnover at present. In fact it is one of the major challenges being faced by many organisations in maintaining their HR practices. It is becoming an emerging paradigm in maintaining HR practices. Companies are considering it as a major problem among women employees and many Corporate’s are trying to implementing many policies and procedures in order to reduce their absenteeism and turnover among their employees especially women employees.

The present article deals with the impact of work life balance of women employees on their absenteeism and turnover. The research is done by considering different sectors like education, BPO, IT, insurance, medicine, marketing and banking and different types of organisational policies maintained by the companies in order to reduce absenteeism and turnover and to maintain proper work life balance for women employees. The current article is undertaken by taking a sample of 340 women employees at Bangalore. The testing of hypothesis showed that there is a difference on impact of work life balance of women employees’ absenteeism and turnover.
