Abstract

Women Entrepreneurs in Khadi and Village Industries play an important role in the Indian economy in creating income and employment opportunities. These industries generate production at low capital cost, promote use of local material, utilize local skills and prevent the migration of labour force to urban centres. An objective of the study to review the performance of KVIC in terms of capital invested, employment and financial assistance, analyze the socio – Economic background of women entrepreneurs, analyze functioning of micro enterprises of women entrepreneur in the study area, and to study the pattern of Institutional assistance and other facilities to women entrepreneurs in Ranga Reddy District. The study revealed that the impact of institutional finance, income of the women entrepreneurs have been calculated for the two periods i.e., pre and after availment of loan.It is observed that although percentage of increase of income varies among trades under study, all the units experienced an increase in terms of income indicating the positive impact of institutional assistance on Women entrepreneurs income levels in the study area.
