Abstract

Medical Tourisms is fast growing sector in which International patients are receiving treatments at various destination sites including India. Service quality and customer satisfaction become very important issue for private Hospitals as well as patients. Private hospitals continue to expand in Gujarat due to the increasing number of international patients seeking medical treatment, physical check-ups, dental treatment or surgical procedures. Patients also require good treatment and care from hospital staff, especially when they attend private hospitals. Patient satisfaction has emerged as an important factor in measuring the quality of care provided by hospitals. This study explores how much the patients are satisfied with facilities given by the hospital in Gujarat state. Overall, the study findings revealed a positive relationship between healthcare service quality and overall patient satisfaction. Therefore, the government and service providers should pay more attention to healthcare related service quality to be able to create reliable competitive advantages for developing the medical tourism industry compared to their regional competitors in India.
