Prehistory is defined as an account of illiteret or preliterate people. It's basis is the man made stone tools, man-made vassels, man and his related animals relics, paintings, and etc. The discovery of Prehistoric Culture in Gujarat was first made in 1893 by Roboert Bruce foot in the sabarmati valley in the Northorn devision of the former Baroda State. The archaeological explorations and excavations have brought out prehistoric cultures in other parts of gujarat. Early man in gujarat inhabited all its natural zones. The man leaved upon food gathering and hunting and fashioned his mains tools out of stone. Gradually, changes in environment and circumstances brought about changes in tools.Now, in central and northern gujarat,the dune surfaces were fixed and small induction lakes formed by alternating dry and damp phases. Here, microlith people appeared, whese resorts were hillocks and riverbank. Thereafter, The cultivation of land and the domestication of animals brought a revolution in the economic life of man, who now resorted to a settled life. Thus man made a great leap forward to civilization.
