Abstract

Traditionally, health is considered as ‘absence of disease’. With the passage of time, health becomes a multidimensional concept and has been defined through various viewpoints such as biomedical, ecological, biosocial & bio cultural and holistic etc. Health services denote all those personal & community services including medical care, directed towards the protection & promotion of health of the community. The present paper seeks to analyze the consumer awareness about health care services with special reference to the Kurukshetra city. The paper has been divided into three sections. Section-I gives an overview of the magnitude of health services in Kurukshetra. In section-II the factors that govern various decisions relating to consumption of health services in Kurukshetra City has been discussed. Section –III summarises the findings of the study.
