Abstract

Economic growth is an engine of economic development, but it also causes various emissions and depletion of natural resources. Economic growth at the cost of environment is hazardous. Therefore economic growth should be supplemented with environmental management, which is nothing but green growth. This research paper highlighted the concept of green growth as a strategy, its necessity, benefits, ways to achieve, green growth in India, initiatives by Indian governments and measures for environmental management.
