1227 college going young women.
The overall prevalence of anemia was 43.76%. 537 out of 1227young women had varying severity of anemia whileanemia was absent in 56.24% of the girls.Out of the 1227 girls, 356 (29%) were mildly anaemic, 137(11.16%) were moderately anaemic and 44(3.58%) were severely anaemic.
the present study revealed anemia to be a major health problem among the college going girls in rural areas in Northren India.
