A positive culture and committed employees have assumed great importance in the current dynamic business environment characterised by mergers and acquisitions, changing technology and new ways of working. The objective of the present study is to know the relationship between organisational culture and employee engagement; and to identify the indices of organisational behaviour that have an impact on employee engagement. The results showed that mission, shared values and organisational learning contribute to high levels of engagement. It is suggested that small group activities at the shop-floor can enhance engagement. The study organisation offers scope for further research with new human resource management initiatives such as organisational citizenship behaviour.
