Factors determining the work life imbalance perceptions of software professionals

The difficulties faced by software professionals trying to balance excessive work and family demands are well known in corporate world around the globe. Failure to achieve work life balance has serious negative consequences for both individuals and organizations. An attempt is made in the present study to verify whether, some of the well documented factors believed to be causing work life imbalance of employees universally are relevant in the Indian context. The descriptive survey research design was adopted in the study and the Binary Logistic Regression model was utilized to bring out the factors leading to work life imbalance of software professionals in India's leading software company TCS. Results of the study confirm that the work life balance of sampled software professionals was influenced by factors just like elsewhere.
