Conception of “Emotional intelligence teaching competency (EITEC)” model

In this article the authors presents incidents pertaining to emotional outbursts in educational institutions. In analyzing the reason behind these outbursts, the concept emerged is emotional intelligence. Before presenting the concept of emotional intelligence, emotion and intelligence have been dealt. This article aims to conceive a model to enhance teaching competency through emotional intelligence strategy. Hence definitions of competence and teaching competence are presented. Finally the article ends with presentation of a model by name EITEC – Emotional Intelligence Teaching Competency based on Daniel Goleman's Theory of Emotional Intelligence.
