3536 college going young women.
The overall prevalence of anaemia was 52.46%. 1855 out of 3536 young women had varying severity of anaemia while anaemia was absent in 47.54% of the girls. Out of the 3536 girls, 653 (18.46%) were mildly anaemic, 1118 (31.61%) were moderately anaemic and 84 (2.37%) were severel yanaemic.
The present study revealed anaemia to be a major public health problem among the college going girls studying in urban setting in Northern India.
