Abstract

Women entrepreneurship has gained momentum in recent decades due to increase in the number of women's enterprises and their substantive contribution to economic growth. In this dynamic world, women entrepreneurs are an important part of the global quest for sustained economic development and social progress. Economic empowerment increases women's access to economic resources and opportunities including jobs, financial services, property and other productive assets, skills development and market information. Empowering women entrepreneurs is essential for achieving the goals of sustainable development and the bottlenecks hindering their growth must be eradicated to enable full participation in business.
