Abstract

Education is a process of all-round development of an individual-physical, intellectual, moral, emotional, social and spiritual. Education provides ample opportunities develop skills in addition to the knowledge it creates. It is an integral part and basis of human life. Education is an old as human existence and shall continue to function long as the human races and man becomes man through education. Education has a great effect on the values followed by the human being. Value pattern of an individual is set of principles, which guides one's desires and feeling resulting in a choice of appropriate action. These are belief upon which man acts by preferences. The ideal of hammering the child into the shape derides by the parents or teachers is as barbarous and ignorant superstition. It is the individual himself/herself who must be induced to expand in accordance with his/her own nature land value pattern. The values in one or another way affects or get effected by the attitude of an individual. Attitudes determine what each individual will see, hear, think, and do. They are rooted in experience and do not become automatic routine conduct. Attitude means the individuals prevailing tendencies to respond favorably or unfavorably to an object, person or group of people, institutions or events. Attitudes can be positive (Values) or negative (prejudice). It is evident from the studies that the education does affect the values and attitude. And values and attitude are related with each other in some other context. Hence, the investigators attempt to examine the teaching attitude of teacher trainees alongwith the different types of values possessed by them.
