Abstract

This paper attempts to highlight the role of IT in higher education. Now a day there is no field or area which has remained untouched from IT, similarly is the case of education. IT has changed many aspects of education as it moves the traditional classroom of notebooks, Pen & pencils and blackboard to online forums of computers and online classes etc. Today the scenario has somewhat changed as students like to spend most of their time on computer system and on internet rather devoting time to read books and journals. Every person wants to do his/her work speedily and efficiently. As the world is moving speedily into digital media, the role of IT in education is becoming more significant and this importance will lead to study the enhancing role of IT in Indian context. In this study attempts has been made on how Information technology influenced the Higher education by preparing structured questionnaire & for analysis Frequency, Percentage and Mean scores were used and it is revealed from the study that IT has significant impact on higher education.
