The purpose of my research paper is to review contemporary Management Education in light of the spiritual vision of Sri Aurobindo and provide solutions to make it more ‘holistic’ so as to develop management aspirants both in the mind and spirit. The paper presents an exploratory study to identify and possibly fill some of the gaps in management education.
This study is intended to be a practitioner research project and I plan to ground this research in a comprehensive study of different bodies of literature that have a bearing on the topic.
The collective is simply an extended individual, hence before learning to manage the collectivity one needs to know the psychological self.
An integral education for management will redress the lopsidedness of education towards the materialistic and the economic and provide a firm foundation for courses on business and professional ethics.
Management education will fulfill its purpose only if the future manager be able to view his or her personal aim of success or of organizational interest in light of a greater aim for society and humanity.
