Abstract

The increasing popularity of Internet has changed the face of banking industry. Advancement in technology has really changed the way of working of banks. Banks have started using various channels like phone banking, mobile banking, telebanking and internet banking to carry out their various functions. Internet Banking due to convenience, flexibility and easy accessibility has attracted a considerable amount of interest. The current study is an attempt to carry out an analysis of the customers’ perception related to the usage of various Internet Banking Services provided to him by Indian public and private sector banks. To achieve the objective of the study a questionnaire was prepared after a thorough study of the available websites of the banks and the existing literature. The convenience sampling method is suitable to survey 148 respondents who are using Internet Banking Services. The findings of the study reveals that the demographic features like area of residence, occupational category and educational qualification do not have much impact on the usage of internet banking services but the category of bank i.e Public/Private have a major impact on the usage of various internet banking services.
