Abstract

Development of entrepreneurship among women is a major step to increase women's’ participation in the process of economic development. It will speed up economic growth, and provide employment opportunities for women which would result in their economic independence. Presently, women in business are definitely on the rise and are paving the way for future generations. The present paper aims to identify the factors of motivation for women entrepreneurs. The study was conducted among women entrepreneurs in Haryana state. Data was gathered from 126 enterprises by using convenience sampling technique. The study brings out that desire to maintain economic independence, utilization of talent, and financial stability for family are the biggest motivators to women entrepreneurs in India.
