Stress is not a medical diagnosis but prolonged stress can lead to many medical problems. Technology in 21st century has wired us to our jobs more than 18 hours of day and has little to no scope for any “me time”. Acute stress has many physiological symptoms while “eustress” results from a “positive” view of an event or situation, which is why it is also called “good stress. At individual level we can prioritize our time and work, adapt our attitude to things which cannot be changed and take time out for our emotional and physical needs to manage stress. At organizational level, improved communication, clarity in accountability, participation in decisions affecting employees will help employees cope up with stress.
