A study on supply chain management for Om Logistics Ltd., Bangalore

Today's popular supply chain software can help companies achieve and maintain a competitive edge by empowering them to streamline and enhance their most important supply chain operations from start to finish. This research paper undertakes an in-depth study on the supply chain performance measurement methods currently used in the company and determines the extent of problems affecting the management of supply chain. A descriptive research design was adopted for the study with random sampling technique adopted and applied over sufficient sample representative consumers as the respondents for the study. Primary data was collected from the employees and customers of the company through interviews and questionnaires and secondary data mainly included the review of literature from reference materials, lecture literatures and company records. Data collected was analyzed using Excel software based on the outcome of the analysis, conclusion was made and recommendations given. Results of data analyzed shows a consistent customer service level and better management of supply chain even if there are some issues like loading and unloading problems, documentation problems etc. The report concludes along with some suggestions that supply chain management is an essential part of an organization as it is important for keeping costs down, while meeting regulations. So it is important to concentrate on areas which require proper planning and management.
