Abstract

Customer satisfaction is a measure of how products and services supplied by a company to fulfill their customer's expectation. It is seen as key performance indicator within the business. In a competitive market place where business compete for customers. Customer satisfaction is seen as key factor and increasingly had become a key element of business strategy. Increasing competition is forcing businesses to pay high attention to satisfying customers. Measuring customer satisfaction provides an indication of how successful the organization is at providing products or services to the marketplace.

Magazine is a publication that carries news about a wide variety of current events. The ever growing number of magazines, the fierce competition among them as well as the competition with other mass media (TV, Internet) and other leisure activities, have made the magazine industry a heavily competitive one. As a result, magazines focuses on marketing strategies and production strategies like their content's quality, service quality and various other factors to acquire new customers and to convert existing customers into loyal customers.

The main objective of the study is to analyze the reader's satisfaction with regard to content quality, design and layout, language, availability of magazine. The study is descriptive study conducted in Chennai city. Random sampling method was adopted. A total of 155 respondents will give questionnaire, which had both open and close ended question. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS package, descriptive analysis and correlation tools were applied.

In mind share Puthiya Thalaimurai does not have any share where as Vikatan is leading with Kumutham as second brand. Majority of the respondents buy Puthiya Thalaimurai as it is information and innovation but they still do not feel that it is giving value for money. In content, layout, paper quality dimension respondents are satisfied. The researcher concludes the study with an observation that Puthiya Thalaimurai should take initiative to advertise heavily and try to occupy the top of the mind share of customer.
