Corruption slide down economic progress

Corruption is now a universal dilemma familiar to both developed and developing countries. This paper is aimed at giving an elucidation of how corruption is an obstruction in economic development, particularly with regard to India. Defining corruption and all of its components is important so that people understand why it is bad, how to avoid it and how to develop rules and regulations to hinder its progress. For this purpose, this paper focuses on discussing corruption in Indian context, sources from where corruption spread in India and India's major corruption scandals. This paper also studied the consequences and causes of corruption in India. In the end some recommendations and suggestions are given to curb this evil.
