Abstract

This paper proposes a new comprehensive system for improvement of the organizational competitiveness, by fully integrating Lean and Six Sigma with adoption of ERP as the basis of the proposed system in a single structure to achieve total competitive advantage. It is an enhanced system for manufacturing/operations management under today's ever changing business environment with a synergistic approach based on those improvement tools and methods. In other words, the proposed system develops a single structure to integrate lean and Six Sigma with ERP all together to maximize the synergistic effect from all those three methodologies. It provides organizations a competitive advantage through a systematic approach by overcoming limitations of existing systems as well as shortcomings of individual methodologies. Virtually, the proposed system can be applied to all organizations and environments. However, in reality this system needs to be modified or customized to fit various organizations and conditions to work effectively and efficiently for the given conditions.
