Today most of the organizations are facing the threat to deal effectively with the technological changes. Social networking sites are a gold mine of information for companies when it comes to one potential competitive advantage and overall necessity to effective company performance, its very own employees. The primary objective of the research was to find out which Social Networking Sites individuals used for searching jobs opportunities. The paper also aimed to compare the difference between social media and other traditional media and other general issues related to social recruitment. The final objective was to find if the passive jobseekers open to new jobs despite being in employment. Purposive sampling was used to select the respondents. Only those respondents who had prior experience of applying for job using social media were requested to participate in the research. Totally 208 respondents participated in the research. It was found that social media can be used as a tool to tap the passive jobseekers. The jobseekers are satisfied with the existing tools to communicate with the employers. The social media tools offer a wide range of benefits compared to the non-social media tools. Further research can be carried out to find the perception of employers towards social media recruitment.
