Abstract

The liberalization policies initiated in India in the early 1990s brought about radical changes in the conduct of stock market. Rising globalization, deregulation, and foreign portfolio investments made the Indian stock exchanges competitive and efficient in their functioning. This study examines the relationship between FIIs investment and stock indices. For this purpose India's two major indices i.e. Sensex and Nifty have been selected. These indices, in a way, represent the picture of India's capital markets. The study observes the effects of FIIs on Indian stock market.
