Abstract

The Shape of Indian retail industry is undergoing various changes and there is a significant growth in the existing retail formats and at the same time, new trends are seen in major retail outlets in India. As Organized retailing is still at 7%, only customers who are upper middle class and above can afford to buy the brands and the most common platform for the consumers is Mall. In organized retailing, Mom and pop stores continue to exist in Indian retailing. In this context, the paper gives insight into the trends which are changing in retail indicating different segments across the nation being operated by Major Indian retailers and International retailers. In the backdrop of this progress, the paper makes an attempt to highlights the various aspects related to retail stores.
