Abstract

Higher educational institutions create and apply knowledge during their processes and activities. The growth in the number of HEIs in India in the last decade has increased competition and the pressures for performing better. This has forced the institutions to recognize the need for knowledge management initiatives which is a key asset. In present study the researcher investigated the significance of Knowledge Management in Higher Education and the major obstacles being faced by the Institutions in the implementation of Knowledge Management System. In this research, 50 Faculty Members and 50 students, 100 in total, of three colleges chosen randomly were examined. The obtained data were analyzed based on the descriptive statistics using SPSS Version 16. The study revealed that there is significant impact of Knowledge Management System in enriching the efficiency of college staff and enhancing the levels of performance of students.
