Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provide an environment for social and economic progress of the country. It can strengthen the communication strategies. ICT is one of the most effective tools in the hands of women which enable them to participate in a various productive fields. It is a catalyst for empowerment of women and is imperative in the development of women employees and entrepreneurs. In the light of the relevance of ICT for women, this paper covers literature of ICT among women and various ICT initiatives for women in India. It also identifies and addresses the problems faced by working women in adoption of information and communication technology (ICT).
