In increasingly knowledge-driven economy, emerging dimensions are key contemplation in commonplace business decisions. India as a knowledge based and rising market place, experiencing a host of diverse business practices. Frequently, new products, technologies and creative designs appear on the market as a result of continuous innovation and creativity. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are often remaining as the driving force behind such innovations. Their innovative and creative capacity, however, is not always fully exploited as many SMEs are not aware of how these emerging trends can help and safeguard them. Khadi and Village Industries (KVIs) are two national heritages of India which together making a substantial contribution in elevating rural economy through empowering the poor or rural elite. The KVI sector over the years has made incredible contribution in industrialization of rural and backward areas thereby reducing regional imbalances. The present study assumes that a planned and systematic approach to promote KVI network in the country may add as a dynamic tool to pull off sustainable growth of rural economy.
