Growth and instability in area, production and productivity of sugarcane(Saccharum officinarum) in Lakhimpur district

Sugarcane is a major crop grown in the area of Lakhimpur and provides employment to number of people. Studyleds to estimate the growth rate in the area, production and productivity and estimates the instability index with the Cuddy-Della Valle index. Data for the research was taken from the site of Directorate of Economics and Statistics Uttar Pradesh and is secondary in nature. The value of growth rate for area, production and productivity were estimated to be-5.236, 5.333, 9.034 respectively and the values for instability index for the same are 30.708%, 93.7%, 47.512%.
