Abstract

In the present economic environment, the importance of industrialisation as an engine of economic growth and development cannot be overstated. However, the context for the formulation of industrial policies has changed. This paper is a study of Impact of Industrial Policy on Firm Performance of Uttrakhand. It was found out that the industrial performance in the region as perceived by the respondents was strongly guided by the Government's strategic plans and set of industrial policy measures like Policy promoting human resource and industry institute linkage Promoting firm competitiveness through Tax incentive and labour related issue Industrial policy for technological development Proactive policy of attracting investment Industrial policy promoting R&D activity and Education and training Industrial policy for marketing support aimed at innovation, quality, and sustainability.
