Abstract

The Present article focuses on the health issues of people in rural India. Because more than half of the people are living in rural India and they are taken the responsibility of supplying the food for the nation. Due to their characteristics they are neglected and the government is trying to bring certain changes in their outlook. Health is also an important indicator of economic development. Here in India local government like Panchayat Raj Institution plays an important role in the socio-economic development of rural India. This paper is purely based on secondary data collected from various sources for the year 2007–12. Present paper reveals that there is lack of resource mobilization and inadequate infrastructural facilities and insufficient funds is provided by the government and local government like PRIs is playing a role like middlemen between government and rural people.
