The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of Human resource development. HRD focuses on human resources as a means for organizational health. This paper highlights the various goals of HRD in the organization. In this paper we have tried to show that why implementation of HRD is important for the successful growth of Small and Medium Enterprises. This paper also points out the problems and challenges in SMEs. Finally, the paper also draws attention towards the origin of HRD.
