Creating a sustainable environment is more of a buzzword today as a topic of major concern in all the fields of social science studies. Is it just got to be discussed or even implemented and practiced? Now this questions calls in for an understanding of what organizations have been doing as a part of their corporate social responsibility activities or any other means to create such an environment. Sustainability has become a popular word for the organizations today. Many corporates in India have very good roots established in creating it. But, how far has there been a thorough understanding of being responsible? Creating a sustainable environment is not just limited to organizations, it's the responsibility of every citizen. On the other hand, the initiatives taken up by the organizations are not of much a prime concern, as it involves a good amount of investments, which is of a major catch in the eyes of the investors. The paper aims to understand the process of creating a sustainable environment through sustainable living in practice by Hindustan Unilever Limited(HUL) for a sustainable present and future. The focus is on understanding various initiatives and business practices undertaken by HUL to create a Sustainable environment. The core values practiced indicate the business excellence with high standards followed by HUL.
