Abstract

This paper made an attempt to evaluate the impact of SHGs linkage credit programme in Mandya district. The study mainly focused on to assess the impact of SHG credit linkage programme on empowerment of women. Empowerment refers to participate in decision making process. One of the major setbacks of women was not being the part of decision making. Participating in the process of decision making is one of the major criteria for self-respect of women, social status, increased status at home, socio-economic security and dignity. Hence, in this paper an enquiry was conducted to identify empowerment of women through SHG credit linkage programm.
