Abstract

The study identifies the intention of the IT employees to move from one job to another. The employees in workplace are bound by various situational factors like organizational culture, organizational support and advancement opportunities; apart from these factors they have their own internal feel towards a particular job. The researcher has concentrated on the mentioned factors and their intensity in influencing the employees to involve in job mobility. The collected secondary data provided a direction for understanding the evolving problem and also instigated the thought process to focus on the present problem. The primary data played an important role in providing solutions to the defined problem of the research. The emergence of more IT companies in Coimbatore and various other related factors induce the employees to involve in turnover, thus this research study was conducted with the IT companies of Coimbatore region. IT employees at all designations of the organizations are considered for the study. This study helps to analyze the psychological contract, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of the employees. This study helps the organizations in understanding the intensity of psychological, situational and economic factors influencing the employees to shift to another job. It helps the organizations to reframe the policies/methods to control the employee turnover.
