Abstract

This manuscript presents the comparative analysis between Indian textile export and China's textile export. Indian Textile Industry is one of the leading industries in the world. Though it was predominantly unorganized the scenario started changing after the economic liberalization of Indian economy in 1991. Textile and clothing has been one of China's traditional industries since 1949 and has remained one of the key industries in modern China. This industry has experienced dramatic reforms and reached high growth for a long period of time. China is the world's largest exporter and producer of many products in this industry. This manuscript deals with structure of textile industry. Research is done mainly by collecting and analyzing secondary data. The major sources of these data are websites of Ministry of Textile, WTO etc. A fair amount of information is collected from magazines and other academic publications to obtain Knowledge working procedure regarding in this field. After 2004 when textiles exports quota were discontinued there is a tremendous increase in textile export which had been taken by China. Meanwhile when we see Indian textile export scenario it has grown slowly & steadily.
