Abstract

Marketing always stresses the importance of satisfying customer needs and wants through a process of Exchange. Marketing occurs virtually in every aspect of life, marketing and selling are directly related to each other; however a new philosophy concerning the relationship between marketing and sales is emerging with both functions being carried by the same person. Sales management plays an important role in marketing especially for firms in the area of insurance. Sales management is generally acknowledged to be the backbone of marketing.
