Abstract

TQM is one of the most popular management concepts and it has gone number of phases since 1920. In recent years, Total Quality Management (TQM) has received worldwide notice and is being followed by many industries, particularly in developed countries. Now days TQM play an important role in all the areas of the manufacturing and service sectors. European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) is now the most widely used organisational framework in Europe and has become the basis for the national and regional Quality Awards. TQM can be implemented in organizations that are replacing existing quality control systems to promote competition and development of the organisation. From this study we can know the concepts, theory, tools, background of TQM, elements and organisation process towards TQM.
