Abstract

In the recent years employee engagement has emerged as a concept of significance from the employee as well as employers perspective. Numerous studies have been conducted to elucidate the positive impact of job resources on employee engagement and its impact on the employee performance and organizational output. The premise of this study was to identify the important predictors of employee engagement. This has been a cross-sectional study on 123 employees of manufacturing and Information Technology based companies located in National Capital Region (NCR). The questionnaires were filled with the help of the students from Feb16-March16. The researchers extensively reviewed the literature and have used factor analysis to identify the predictors of employee engagement. Factor analysis generated two factors: job resources and organizational policies and practices among which job resources emerged as an important predictor of employee engagement.
