Abstract

An extensive review of literature on organizational learning (OL) highlights issues such as multiple definitions of organizational learning, development of theory through descriptive and prescriptive ways, and lack of appropriate metrics to assess OL and its impact on organizational results. This paper attempts to define organizational learning by converging six important factors namely source, form, choice, context, result and purpose derived from some of the important OL models and findings in the OL literature.; with a view to propose a comprehensive model of organizational learning having potential to address the issues presented in the OL literature.
