Non-performing assets(NPA) is an integral part of the banking operation. NPA always drain the profit of banking institution. RBI by adopting best international practices has introduced several provisions to improve the financial health of the Banks. As a regulatory authority RBI has issued guidelines to Co-operative banks regarding provision of NPA. The focus of this article is to analyse the NPA of The Mysore Zilla Mahila Sahakara Bank Limited (MZMSB)and the effect of NPA on profitability.
