Relationship Among Qualities of Fund Management and Investment Decisions in Mutual Funds-A Pragmatic Approach

Investors’ mutual fund investment decision depends on various factors. The qualities of fund management are one among them. Fund (product) quality, fund sponsor quality and investor services are the major determinants of fund management. The present study tries to establish the relationship between qualities of fund management and investment decisions in mutual funds. The data collected from 900 mutual funds investors using structured questionnaire. Mean, Rank, Correlation and Regression were used for analysis. In the first stage, to identify which variable is prominent in each of the three groups, Correlation with each sub dimensions was done separately on the three groups. Then using, correlation identified the most prominent variable. In the last stage, using regression analysis, the relationship between qualities of fund management and investment decision in mutual funds established. From the study, it is clear that the major determinant of qualities of fund management is investor services and there is a positive relationship between qualities of fund management and mutual fund investment decisions.
