During the 21st Century, women are stepping out of their homes into the world of employment. Stress experienced by working women during the performance of the familial role can take a severe psychological and physical roll in terms of organizational role performance. Across the globe, working women are struggling with the task of balancing their organizational and familial roles. The productivity of the workforce is the most decisive factor as far as the success of an organization is concerned. The productivity in turn is dependent on the psychosocial well being of the employees. In an age of highly dynamic and competitive world, man is exposed to all kinds of stressors that can affect him on all realms of life. The increasing participation of women in organizational settings is a huge transformation that occupational health must address. Therefore, the present paper is aimed at examining the sources of stress and their consequences on working women.
