Abstract

This empirical study has been conducted for selected public sector banks to know the growth of interest revenue and non-interest revenue for pre and post-recession 2008. The banks which are taken for the study are 8 public sector banks which are future divided into BIG 4 (on the basis of their market capital) and other selected public sector banks. The data has been analyzed from the year 2001 to 2016. The study is conducted in 2 stages. Stage 1 reveals the growth rate of each banks interest revenue and non-interest revenue before and after the recession. Stage 2 is where the relation between interest revenue and non-interest revenue for each bank is taken into consideration and ranked them accordingly. This study reveals the outcomes of both the stages, where stage 1 provides the names of the bank which has performed well during the specified period, whereas in stage 2 banks have been ranked on the basis of their correlation, T-Statistic and P-values exiting between two variables.
